Jon Brewer - Monochrome: Black, White & Blue

If you are into documentaries and frankly, who isn't? There is a fantastic three part series on Amazon Prime right now. It's about the history of American music. You would think you knew a lot about this sort of thing. However, there are some aspects of the subject you probably haven't considered.

The Producer and Director, Jon Brewer called in to the show and we talked about this great piece of film.

Also, some social media mayhem.

Plus, music from The RV's.

Going For The Bronze with Liz Kinnmark

You might have been watching the Olympics. I certainly have. What is funny about that is the simple reality I have never been a big fan of this spectacle. Admittedly, this has been very entertaining and quite a good bit of fun to enjoy. The politics of it and all.

Also in this show, Liz Kinnmark, The Bendy Beast herself makes her second appearance on the show to talk about an upcoming event (which has already happened but go with me on this) and to talk about some other naughty fun.

If that isn't enough, music from Airside.

You Had A Stroke, Fool

It's always a great time when Vince Johnson & The Plantation Allstars roll into the Radio Memphis studios. It was magical night of conversation and performance and we recorded their appearance. Vince had a stroke recently and he's recovered very quickly and is at the top of his game. He and the Allstars put on quite a performance and they talk about a new album in the works.

Also in this episode, I went to a very different show and it has something to do with next week's guest.

The Superb Owl and Sean "Bad" Apple

Those of you who know me will know my feelings regarding the NFL and it's absurdities. The big game is certainly the pinnacle of this absurd pastime. Nevertheless, there are a lot of people who put a lot into the sport and its outcomes. All of this, to me at least, makes the whole thing kind of silly. I certainly don't put much stock in the thing. You can tell, because this post and the attached episode of the show was done during the game.

Also in this episode, Jeff and I sat down with Sean "Bad" Apple to talk about the business of the blues as well as hear a little of what this man does just about every day on Beale Street. He's a one man band and is one of the more impressive artists we have had the pleasure of spending time with.
